I’ve been playing hockey for some 20+ years now, but have always been rather clueless on where and what I’m supposed to be doing on the ice when I don’t have the puck (although sometimes also when I do.) Could you recommend a book for me that would teach the X’s and O’s of on-ice positioning?

i dont know any books but what position are you?
hockey is a very fast paced game, there is no definite position you are going to be sitting at, you need to be moving and not worry about your positioning if you have a play at the puck that someone else may not.
the players have to adjust to the play depending on whats happening although defensively everyone has their own roles
Have you not been listening to your coach?
